CREATIVE WRITER

Description

Flying Cork Media, a growing strategic marketing communications firm, is seeking a qualified candidate for the position of a full-time Creative Writer. This position will assist in all client campaign writing, ensuring all initiatives are strategically and creatively aligned to clients’ needs, while being delivered on time and on budget.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research to obtain factual information and authentic detail, utilizing sources such as interviews, newspaper accounts and web content
  • Write, proof, submit for approval and/or revise material to meet personal and company standards and to exceed client needs and expectations
  • Develop factors such as story, characterization and dialogue in order to promote client brand standards
  • Write client radio and TV scripts, submits for approval, works with production team to meet and exceed client expectations on time and on budget
  • Write website content including blogs, copy and sitemaps, submits for approval and works with creative team to meet and exceed client expectations on time and on budget
  • Collaborate with other writers, team leads and other department members on specific projects
  • Confer with clients, producers and creative directors to discuss development and changes or revisions
  • Work with project lead to provide support/suggestions and offers solutions to client needs and challenges
  • Provide support to Business Development staff by offering ideas and feedback on the development of proposals and RFP responses
  • Develop project timelines and budgets with oversight from project manager
  • Proactively contributes ideas and solutions to client projects
  • Work across multiple campaigns at once, with aggressive deadlines and various budget allocations

Qualifications

  • A bachelor’s degree in marketing, advertising, communication or public relations is preferred.
  • 1-2 years of professional strategic writing experience in an advertising agency environment is desired.
  • Extremely detailed oriented, with the ability to manage many tasks at once and drive process and organization.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, reasoning, grammatical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work proactively and independently.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Power Point with the ability to learn new computer software and skills quickly.
